Staff Member: Directorate of Remand Prisons Zurich (UGZ) 80 - 100%Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Remand Prisons Zurich (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe, comprising seven facilities with around 700 prison places and approximately 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional detention, investigative and security custody, as well as early penal and measure enforcement until transfer to a correctional facility. In doing so, they fulfil a central function within the Zurich justice system.
We are looking for a committed and proactive individual to support our Head of Department with foresight, organisational skill and vigour, starting immediately or by arrangement.
What to expect
- You will work closely with the UGZ Director and support her in advancing, structuring and implementing strategic and operational matters
- You will actively shape the establishment and further development of the UGZ staff and develop tools and foundations that support effective leadership and collaboration
- You will quickly familiarise yourself with complex issues, analyse diverse information and condense it into clear decision-making bases, concepts, reports and presentations
- You will design and coordinate meetings, retreats and management days, ensuring that discussions lead to concrete decisions and next steps, which you will actively accompany and drive forward in implementation
- You will be a sparring partner for the Director and the staff, contribute your own perspectives, actively participate in projects and help to further develop UGZ organisationally and substantively
Who you are
- You have completed a university or university of applied sciences degree and ideally bring experience from a complex organisational environment
- You can quickly grasp complex topics, recognise connections and derive clear priorities and next steps
- You work independently and in a structured manner, take responsibility for your topics and maintain an overview even when several things are happening simultaneously
- You bring experience in organisational development and understand that changes require not only good concepts but also a good sense of organisations and people
- You are familiar with project work. You can structure projects, bring together different stakeholders and consistently drive topics forward
