Category Manager Capex (m/f/d) 100%, for the Construction Services Sector

To drive our continuous organic growth, we are constantly seeking highly qualified professionals. To strengthen our team in the Supply Chain Europe area, we are looking for a committed Category Manager Capex (m/f/d) 100%, for the "Construction Services" sector within the Indirect Procurement Europe department.

Your Responsibilities

• Assuming procurement responsibility as a specialist for the preparation of planner, work, and supply contracts for new and existing construction projects in English and German

• Developing and implementing procurement strategies considering the specific requirements within construction projects, regulatory requirements, and SIA standards

• Preparing, conducting, and/or supporting tenders including leading award discussions up to contract award/commissioning

• Execution and monitoring of the entire procurement process up to invoice verification, as well as any supplementary claim management

• Ongoing monitoring of operational and strategic KPIs within own area of responsibility

• Ensuring proactive schedule monitoring and initiating measures to ensure controlled schedule changes/corrections

• Sourcing and evaluation of suitable procurement sources including building and maintaining long-term supplier relationships

• Close collaboration with internal stakeholders from engineering, production, finance, and controlling

• Monitoring, analysing, and evaluating market developments, supplier landscapes, and industry-specific trends

• Further development of processes, contract templates, and systems within the existing system landscape

• Troubleshooting for qualitative or schedule-related issues

• Participation in projects as a subject matter expert for procurement

• Mutual representation with existing Capex Category Managers

Your Profile:

• Completed basic training in a technical field with commercial further education (business economist HF, certified technical purchaser, certified purchasing specialist) or degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent

• More than 5 years of professional experience in procurement in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, at least 2 years of experience in procurement of construction services

• Solid understanding of contract mechanisms in the procurement of technical components and services

• Integrative, engaging personality with healthy assertiveness, entrepreneurial thinking, and acting independently (hands-on) and responsibly

• Fluent in German and English (written/spoken) with negotiation skills

• Flexible, open, and curious, with a strong drive to perform and enthusiasm for finding and implementing solutions

• Confident SAP and MS Office skills applied in a professional environment

• Analytical skills and strategic thinking

• Strong negotiation and communication skills
