The Building Department develops major new construction or renovation projects by promoting architectural competitions and is dedicated to the activities of the State of Fribourg: Education, Justice and Police, Social Domain, Administration, Research Laboratories, Logistics are some of the areas in which we manage the State's projects. For an exceptional project of the Canton, we are looking for a head of major projects ready to take on an ambitious challenge, combining logistical complexity and management of multiple stakeholders.

Your missions
- You represent the public client by managing one of the largest projects in the Canton of Fribourg, exceeding 100 million CHF
- You are the head of the "project" enterprise in all its dimensions: economic, scheduling, architectural programme, and risks & opportunities
- Your mission is to successfully complete this enterprise, that is to deliver a building in a complex urban site, for a demanding user, and in a context of exemplary standards compared to previous elements; you collaborate with all stakeholders whether internal to the State, external or private
- Your role is to coordinate studies and execution respecting the development of a major project subject to public procurement: financial control, architectural ambitions, compliance with directives notably regarding sustainability, leadership and motivation of internal teams and contractors are familiar tasks to you
- You are a proactive personality, attracted by challenges, comfortable in multifactorial projects, endowed with leadership and excellent communication skills
- Within the autonomy granted to you, you know how to keep your hierarchical superiors informed by anticipating issues to be escalated
Desired profile
- Master’s degree in architecture or civil engineering or equivalent training ideally complemented by a CAS in construction project management
- You have several years of professional experience in managing complex real estate projects
- You are familiar with matrix organisations and demonstrate ease in human relations
- You master French or German with good knowledge of the other language
