Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva and has 500 places for minors and young adults, offering educational outpatient services at home. The FOJ employs 670 staff members.
As part of its activities, the FOJ regularly welcomes civilians to support the educational teams.
We are looking for a civilian assistant educator for the Les Pontets home, a 9-place facility hosting adolescents aged 15 to 18 years.
Job Description
This announcement concerns a civil service assignment and not a regular job. Only persons already admitted to Swiss civil service by decision of the Federal Office for Civilian Service (CIVI) may apply.
- 25% Leisure support
Organisation and supervision of extracurricular and leisure activities, project preparation, vehicle driving.
- 25% Educational support
Assistance and supervision in the young person’s academic progress (homework monitoring).
- 15% Case follow-up
Participation in meetings on educational attitudes as well as meetings with families and/or social workers.
- 35% Daily support
Support within the institution in all daily life activities: getting up, meals, hygiene, going to bed.
Work rate: 100%
Start date: as soon as possible, depending on availability and CIVI deadlines
Duration of assignment: minimum 3 months

Qualifications
- Interest in the social/educational field and supporting adolescents
- Good interpersonal skills and ease of contact
- Sense of responsibility and reliability
- Flexibility, dynamism and adaptability
- Ability to work within an educational team
- Category B driving licence and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
