Specialist Anaesthetist (20-80%) - Focus on Interventional Pain Medicine

Would you like to apply your anaesthesiological experience more intensively in pain medicine in the future? Is it important to you not only to treat patients at specific points but to accompany them over a longer period?

In this outpatient role, you care for people with acute and chronic pain. In addition to thorough assessment and consultation, invasive and interventional procedures form an important focus. You consider not only individual findings but also include psychological and social factors in the treatment.

The specialised facility in Upper Valais has an established referral structure and high demand. You will work closely with an experienced doctor and a well-coordinated practice team. The collaboration is personal and on an equal footing.

We are looking for either an already experienced pain medicine specialist or a professional from anaesthesiology who wishes to develop specifically in this area.

Your tasks:

• Assessment and treatment of patients with acute and chronic pain
• Development of individual pain medicine treatment concepts
• Performing invasive and interventional procedures according to your previous experience
• Gradual expansion of your practical skills in interventional pain medicine
• Continuous support of patients and evaluation of treatment progress
• Consideration of physical, psychological and social factors in chronic pain conditions

Your competencies:

• Specialist title in Anaesthesiology, Swiss or MEBEKO recognised
• Certificate in Interventional Pain Therapy SSIPM or a comparable qualification advantageous
• Alternatively, strong interest in pain medicine and willingness to develop specifically in interventional procedures
• Enjoyment of practical and invasive work
• Interest in the psychological and social contexts of chronic pain conditions
• Empathetic and respectful approach to people who have often suffered pain for years
• Independent, reliable and team-oriented working style
• Good knowledge of German
