Job description

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva benefits from an enriching multicultural dynamic to which it contributes through its influence within the mandates it has set itself: teaching, research and its partnership with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG).

The Geneva Digital Health Hub (gdhub) is an international platform dedicated to digital health, co-founded in 2021 by the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Its main mission is to promote the digital transformation of global health by improving knowledge management, supporting projects based on scientific data, and bridging the gap between research, field innovation and public policy. The gdhub builds on more than 20 years of experience and research in digital health, notably based on the RAFT project (Francophone Africa Network for Telemedicine).

To strengthen its team, the gdhub is currently looking for a:

Assistant at 50%

The main mission of this position is to support the Geneva Digital Health Hub team in the design and implementation of the first MOOC dedicated to the theme "Space and Global Health". This work will be carried out in close collaboration with the MOOC unit of the University of Geneva.

This research field aims to understand, analyse and exploit space technologies to contribute to reducing inequalities in global health and better address the challenges related to climate change. In this context, the recruited person will provide support for the pedagogical design of the MOOC, notably in the development of the syllabus from a corpus of data in English, the collection and validation of resources, the structuring of content as well as bibliographic research. They will also coordinate the various international contributors for the production of educational materials, as well as monitor their production (organisation of filming, video editing follow-up, etc.) and preparation for the MOOC launch.

The project is part of the ongoing work carried out by a multidisciplinary working group belonging to the "Space and Global Health" network dedicated to structuring an international curriculum in this field. This group brings together experts from academia, the private sector, international space agencies within a strategic partnership with the gdhub, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

Required qualifications and skills

• Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in science, global health, public health, education sciences, communication, project management or a related field.
• Previous experience in research, project coordination or management of educational content is an asset.
• Possess good analytical, synthesis, bibliographic research and content structuring skills.
• Have good organisational and coordination skills, ability to monitor contributions and organise exchanges within a multidisciplinary project.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
