Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician (M/F/N) to join our quality control (QC) laboratories at our Monthey site.
In this role, you will independently carry out analyses on samples from production and finished products. You will also act as a technical reference, ensuring the reliability of laboratory methods and equipment, while contributing to continuous improvement and investment projects.
Your responsibilities:
- Independently perform quality control analyses to verify product compliance with established specifications.
- Use and ensure the proper functioning of analytical equipment, particularly gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC).
- Act as a technical reference for the methods and equipment you are responsible for: fault diagnosis, problem resolution, maintenance monitoring and user support.
- Train, support and develop the technical skills of colleagues on analytical equipment and methods.
- Participate in the development, optimisation and implementation of new laboratory methods and technologies.
- Contribute to investment projects: identifying needs, evaluating technical solutions and liaising with suppliers.
- Collaborate with production, other laboratories and Process Technology teams to harmonise practices and resolve technical issues.
- Write and update technical documentation, operational procedures and user instructions.
- Strictly comply with applicable HSEQ, quality and safety requirements in the laboratory.
This is a reference and technical leadership role, without direct hierarchical responsibility.
Qualifications
Experience
- Solid experience in a laboratory technician role or comparable position.
- Proven expertise in analytical chemistry, ideally in GC and HPLC.
- Experience in troubleshooting analytical equipment and independently managing technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, structure technical projects and actively seek necessary information.
- Comfortable communicating with diverse stakeholders and transferring technical knowledge.
- Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a chemical laboratory technician or equivalent training.
- Very good knowledge of HSEQ, quality and safety requirements in a laboratory environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.
- Technical English, written and spoken, is an asset.

- Position based in Monthey, with mandatory on-site presence
- Participation in an on-call system, approximately 6 to 7 weeks per year. In case of on-call duty, the person must be able to reach the site within about one hour
