Health & Safety Manager (80-100%)
Ensure electricity in Switzerland
In this responsible role, you support and enable line managers, project leaders, plant managers, and service providers to assume their responsibility for occupational safety and health protection and to sustainably integrate it into everyday work. You will be responsible for the regions of Basel, Solothurn, Aargau, and Zurich as well as adjacent parts of Central Switzerland, thus making an important contribution to a safe and healthy working environment.
- Conducting risk assessments and site inspections in collaboration with line managers, project leaders, and plant managers
- Defining and accompanying necessary measures to ensure occupational safety and health protection
- Advising and supporting project teams as well as internal and external partners on all matters related to Health & Safety
- Developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing campaigns and training to sustainably improve our safety culture
- Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying causes, and deriving effective improvement measures in the spirit of an open learning and error culture
- Checking the implementation and currency of measures for occupational safety and health protection
- Actively participating in the management and further development of the integrated management system (ISO 45001), creating and updating necessary documents, and checking their compliance in practice
- Promoting knowledge exchange, collaboration, and awareness of safety and health issues within the organisation and among partners in our industry
This is how you make a difference
For this demanding role, we are looking for an upbeat personality who enjoys working in a team and is accustomed to communicating and presenting appropriately at different levels. Furthermore, you bring the following:
- Basic electrical engineering training with further education as a master craftsman, technician HF, or university of applied sciences degree or an equivalent qualification
- Qualification as a safety specialist with a federal certificate or as a safety engineer EKAS
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable role in the energy, industry, infrastructure, or construction environment
- Structured thinking and the ability to identify complex relationships and communicate them clearly
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
- Enjoyment of working with different target groups as well as high communication and presentation skills
- Experience in further developing a positive safety culture and accompanying change processes
- High initiative and strong sense of responsibility
- German language skills at native level; good Italian or French skills are an advantage
- Enjoyment of working on construction sites and plants within the area of responsibility

We are the Health & Safety team of Swissgrid. The focus of this team includes advising and coaching employees, managers, and service providers on occupational safety and health protection. Among other things, we manage training modules, conduct safety inspections, and support the creation of risk assessments.
In our Health & Safety team, currently consisting of eight people, we maintain a good team spirit and are passionately committed to the safety and health of employees and service providers. We always work solution-oriented, place great value on prevention, and like to inspire our colleagues with innovative ideas.
