About the job
The city of Dietikon is the fifth largest municipality in Zurich and also the district capital in the Limmat Valley with over 28,000 inhabitants. Safety for the population is our highest priority. To strengthen our police team, we are immediately seeking a committed, proactive and community-oriented individual.
Your tasks
- Maintaining peace, order and safety in public spaces
- Preventive presence and point of contact for the population
- Investigating, clarifying and reporting criminal offences
- Conducting patrol and control duties
- Processing reports and police incidents
- Taking immediate measures in events and emergencies
- Participating in traffic controls and traffic police operations
- Cooperating with partner organisations, authorities and emergency services
- Providing services at events and occasions
- Providing information and support to the public on police matters
Your profile
- Training as a police officer with a federal professional certificate or federal diploma
- Experience in police service
- Swiss citizenship and impeccable reputation
- Physical and mental resilience
- Willingness to work irregular hours in shift, night and weekend duty (excluding on-call duty)
- High social competence and strong team spirit
- Independent, reliable and responsible working style
- Good general education and confident German language skills
- Pleasant manners and customer-oriented appearance
- Enjoyment in contact with the public and a varied role in the police environment.
