with the Social Action Service, Asylum Office, Mission School Hostel in St-Gingolph

The Social Action Service includes the Coordination Office for Social Benefits, the Coordination Office for Disability Issues, and the Asylum Office.

Your tasks

• You take on the educational responsibility for around 30 children under the asylum domain
• You collaborate with the hostel manager for the overall cohesion of the hostel
• You propose, develop and ensure the implementation of new socio-educational projects
• You participate in the health network established for the care of beneficiaries
• You supervise the hostel's educational team
• You plan and organise the hostel's educational conferences
• You undertake evening and weekend duties

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social education or equivalent training
• Excellent knowledge of the asylum field, particularly in the supervision of children housed in collective hostels
• Very good communication and negotiation skills, as well as a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage staff
• Sense of responsibility, organisational skills and good analytical ability in complex situations
• Excellent writing skills
• Good knowledge of the social and educational fabric of Lower Valais
• Native French speaker; knowledge of other languages would be an asset

Start date - Special conditions

• Start date: immediately or to be agreed
• Fixed-term contract: the duration is linked to fluctuations in the number of people the canton is obliged to accommodate under the federal asylum law
