In short
one of the fastest-growing premium sportswear brands seeks a Head of Group Accounting for a 5-month fixed term placement. The Head of Group Accounting will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s accounting functions and lead the group accounting team at our headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. The Head of Group Accounting will report to the Global Head of Accounting & Reporting and will collaborate with regional accounting teams, the group reporting team, other centralized group finance functions and shared services teams. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and U.S. SEC regulatory requirements, including SOX compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading teams, working with a multinational corporation, excellent knowledge of IFRS, and a strong understanding of U.S. SEC reporting requirements for Foreign Private Issuers.
Your Mission
- Lead the group accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in financial accounting & reporting processes;
- Manage the shared services team responsible for group-wide functions;
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process and keep all parties informed of timelines to ensure timely & accurate financial statements;
- Ensure financial statements are compliant with group accounting policies (IFRS);
- Enhance, develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS, U.S. SEC requirements and other relevant regulations;
- Provide technical accounting guidance and assess/implement any financial regulations and standards changes;
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls over financial accounting processes, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley;
- Coordinate & collaborate with group and regional finance teams to ensure uniformity, consistency, and accuracy in financial accounting;
- Support strategic initiatives and provide financial insights/analysis to drive business performance and growth; and
- Liaise & coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and quarterly reviews, focusing on the unique aspects of IFRS and SEC reporting.
