Social Assistant

As a social assistant at the Gare de l'École de l'Accueil site, you contribute to the psycho-social support of young people with a view to their integration into a vocational training project.

You support and assist students and families facing personal, family, socio-administrative or financial difficulties.

You work closely with other members of the school's resource group.

Disclosure of criminal records (clean criminal record) is required to perform the role.

• Assess situations, conduct interviews and take necessary follow-up actions on socio-educational and administrative levels.
• Promote links between school, family and social network as well as the social and administrative integration of students.
• Assist students with their administrative procedures.
• Supervise and advise on students' financial aid requests.
• Participate in various working sessions related to school life and student support.
• Maintain links with partner institutions and handle administrative tasks related to the role.

• Bachelor's degree in social work (University of Applied Sciences) or equivalent qualification
• Professional experience with young people and preferably in the field of social and professional integration - 5 years
• Knowledge of migration issues and the Vaud school system is desirable
• Interest in multidisciplinary work, active listening and empathy

The Ecole de l'Accueil offers a school curriculum lasting 1 to 2 years to allophone young people aged 15 to 25 seeking a training pathway.
