Personnel, organisational and financial management of the Medical Services Department with 6 employees Management of the department including the cantonal medical service for both Appenzell regions, licensing and supervision of health professionals and institutions, medicinal product control as well as the cantonal dental service Development, coordination and leadership of projects as well as preparation of draft resolutions for the government council Participation in commissions and expert conferences Implementation of federal and cantonal legal tasks in the area of communicable diseases Issuance of cost approvals for out-of-canton hospitalisations according to the Health Insurance Act Issuance of permits for substitution treatments and enforcement of the Narcotics Act Professional support of cantonal health planning Supervision of the school medical service
Completed medical degree with specialist title and several years of professional experience Confident and appropriate demeanour with high social and leadership competence Knowledge of public law, the Swiss healthcare system and the Eastern Swiss health landscape Experience in public administration as well as qualifications in the field of Public Health advantageous Enjoyment of politically influenced issues Experience in project management with various stakeholders Conceptual skills, creativity and solution-oriented working methods
