(Senior) Manager - Actuarial - Life Insurance

As a Manager or Senior Manager in the life insurance sector, you are part of a leading actuarial team actively shaping the transformation of the Swiss insurance industry. You bring your extensive expertise in actuarial matters and take responsibility for demanding projects at renowned insurance companies and reinsurers. The Swiss life insurance market is characterized by regulatory requirements (e.g., SST, IFRS 17), innovation pressure, and international networking. Your main tasks

• Leading and managing complex actuarial projects in life insurance and reinsurance, especially on topics such as reserving, profit testing, and actuarial valuation according to local and international standards (e.g., IFRS 17, Swiss Solvency Test).
• Strategic consulting of clients on the implementation of regulatory requirements, optimization of business processes, and digitalization of actuarial workflows.
• Development, validation, and presentation of models for risk assessment, capital modeling, and forecasting calculations.
• Leading and developing project teams, promoting knowledge exchange, and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Presenting results and recommendations to top management and client departments – both in German and English.
• Taking responsibility in international projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within Switzerland and worldwide.
• Actively shaping innovations, e.g., in data analytics, machine learning, and digitalization of actuarial processes.

What we are looking for

• Several years of professional experience as an actuary in life insurance, ideally with Swiss market knowledge and leadership experience.
• Successfully completed studies in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or a related field; ideally with completed actuarial qualification (SAV, DAV, or equivalent).
• Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks in Switzerland (especially SST, FINMA requirements, operating accounts) as well as international standards (IFRS 17).
• Experience in using actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes) and in developing models with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, R, VBA).
• Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and high problem-solving competence.
• Very good communication skills in German and English; French skills are an advantage.
• Leadership skills, team orientation, and the ability to independently manage complex projects.
• Enjoyment in developing innovative solutions and working in a dynamic consulting environment.
