ASAP: HR Lead Global Restructuring Initiative (m/w)

In this challenging role you will be supporting the preparation and delivery of a global initiative to restructure the business, collaborating with local HR and other important stakeholders. Support the business leaders in defining the way forward (organisation design, communication, etc.) and will require good project management skills to succesfully deliver the needed inputs and materials.

ASAP: HR Lead Global Restructuring Initiative (m/w)

Our client is a globally well known pharma company with offices in Zürich and a global reach. We are looking for an experienced HR professional with previous experience with restructuring programmes or redundancies, ideally on an European scale. The role would start asap and last until spring 2021.


  • HR lead - in charge of the preparation and delivery of a global restructuring programme in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Support business leaders to define future operating model and organisation design, advising on people implications/considerations, advise on communication, timing, implementation, etc.
  • ADvise on the organisation (eg. role definition, global location strategy, future capabilities required, realignment of work into new operating model and reduction of workforce in line with transition of work to other countries)
  • Responsible for any European Work Council consultation in collaboration with the relevant HR team, legal and the
  • Work closely with the global HR team, internal and external legal counsel and local HR teams to create and execute the HR plan and strategy for the restructuring.
  • Work with local HR to support transitions of processes, supporting both sending and receiving HR teams.
  • Responsible for the end to end project management from an HR perspective (managing project plan and all aspects of project including dependencies, risks, issues, redundancy costs etc.)
  • Required to review and create an array of communication materials including, consultation materials, manager briefing packs, employee Q&A's, among others


  • Must have: HR baclground with experience managingHR projects associated with redundancies/restructuring.
  • Good know how of EU employment law (or basic understanding but focused know how on structural change/redundancies) would be a big plus
  • Structured/self-organised personality, demonstrating personal accountability and follow through.
  • Collaborative team player essential, as an integral member of the HR team.
  • Attention to detail, high level of accuracy in handling HR information.
  • Supportive people style, with calm confidence. Managing situations to a fair conclusion.
  • Strong credibility and ability to influence at a senior level with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Pragmatic and able to work under pressure and a changing environment
  • You are a good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking.
  • Preferable experience of GBS or Shared service functions
  • Business understanding / commercial mindset required, not afraid to challenge
  • Experience in working for large-scale global organizations in a dynamic environment Experience of managing relationships and deliverables across functions in a complex organization
  • Ability to deal with senior executives globally (including implications on the working hours)
