Social Worker in a Medical Environment for the Adult Oncology Sector

The CHUV is seeking a social worker in a medical environment at 60% or 80% to strengthen its team dedicated to supporting patients in adult oncology.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

Attached to the Directorate of Care, the Somatic Social Service of the Directorate of Care supports patients and their relatives discreetly, helping them resolve administrative, financial, legal, family, and psychosocial issues related to hospitalisation or outpatient follow-up.

Mission

• You provide psychosocial support as well as administrative, logistical, financial, or legal assistance to patients using oncology clinical services
• You collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that defines the therapeutic project with the patient
• You inform, advise, guide, and support patients and their families for all necessary procedures following accidents, illness, disability, or loss of income
• You coordinate interventions with Vaud and Romandy social and health services to ensure comprehensive and appropriate care.

Profile

• You hold a HES or ESTS Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or an equivalent university qualification recognised in Switzerland
• You have a good knowledge of Swiss social insurances and are familiar with Vaud social institutions as well as administrative and legal structures
• You demonstrate a strong interest in health-related issues
• You are able to work in an interprofessional team, network, and autonomously
• You possess excellent writing skills and are comfortable with IT tools (MS Office).

The salary scale is between 8 and 9, depending on the candidate's profile.
