Academic Staff Member Department of Secondary Schools

The Office for Higher Education implements the educational policy mandates of the government and the Department of Education, Culture, and Environmental Protection in the area of secondary schools and tertiary education and research to promote an attractive education and research location in Graubünden.
The Department of Secondary Schools is responsible for enforcing the legal provisions applicable to secondary schools. The approximately 2300 secondary school students in the canton of Graubünden are distributed between the Bündner Cantonal School at the Chur location and the eight private secondary schools in the regions.
In the Department of Secondary Schools of the Office for Higher Education, we are looking for an Academic Staff Member for Secondary Schools due to retirement as of June 1, 2026 or by agreement.
- Scientific collaboration and support of the department management in the implementation of projects, in the revision of laws and regulations, as well as in the implementation of cantonal and federal reforms in the secondary school sector
- Overall responsibility for the cantonal entrance examinations to the Bündner secondary schools including leadership of the entrance examination commission
- Communication and public relations in the secondary school sector
- Collaboration in accompanying the quality management of secondary schools and monitoring the annual reporting of secondary schools on cantonal performance mandates
- Participation in the coordination and supervision related to the final examinations at secondary schools
- Participation in the administration of student administration and processing of individual case requests (e.g., admissions, school and department changes)
- University degree at master’s level
- Several years of professional experience in education; experience in educational administration is an advantage
- Strong oral communication skills, confident appearance, and enjoyment of public relations work
- High resilience and assertiveness
- Independent and structured working style as well as affinity for digital developments
- Proficient in writing texts in German. Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
- High social competence and ability to work in a team
