About the job
At the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Basel, a Professorship in Clinical Psychology and Digital Psychotherapy (Associate or Full Professorship) is to be filled for the autumn semester 2027 or by arrangement.
Your Tasks
The professorship to be filled conducts excellent research in the field of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy with a special focus on digital intervention approaches in childhood/adolescence and/or adulthood. In particular, the professorship researches and develops innovative approaches to the use of digital technologies for psychotherapeutic care, such as smartphone-based applications, the use of artificial intelligence, or virtual reality in the context of psychotherapeutic procedures. The research of such approaches is carried out, among other things, with regard to their effectiveness, acceptance, or integration with the entire healthcare system. Through its research, the professorship creates evidence-based foundations for modern, high-quality psychotherapy and contributes to the development of low-threshold, scalable, and personalised offerings. Interdisciplinary connections within the faculty and the university are desired. Through its studies, publications, and acquisition of third-party funding, the professorship makes a significant contribution to profiling the research priorities of the faculty.
The professor offers teaching amounting to eight semester hours per week in the bachelor's and master's programmes. They strengthen the basic offering in clinical psychology as well as the applied offering in the field of face-to-face and digital psychotherapy approaches within lectures, seminars, and qualification theses.
