Professor UAS in Cell Biology and Bioassay Systems (80-100%)

Do you have a strong research track record and a clearly defined research profile in molecular and cell-based systems? Join us to shape the next generation of life sciences professionals while driving innovative, industry-relevant research.
Your mission
-
Provide high-quality teaching in cell biology, physiology, biochemistry and related laboratory methods in Bachelor and Master programs.

Establish, lead and grow an externally funded applied research program focused on the development and application of cell-based in vitro models for digital and automated testing systems (e.g. microphysiological systems, advanced cell assays, 3D cell cultures, organoids, high-content screening).

Develop innovative, application-oriented research projects in close collaboration with industrial and clinical partners in diagnostics, pharma, biotechnology, medtech or related sectors, focusing on advanced bioassay systems.

Supervise Bachelor and Master student projects and theses and actively integrate students into research and development activities.
Your profile
-
PhD in Cell Biology or a related life sciences discipline with a strong focus on cell-based analytical systems.

Strong research track record demonstrated by publications, competitive funding and/or recognised applied research achievements.

Established research profile in eukaryotic cell biology, with a focus on the development and implementation of innovative in vitro cell models (2D/3D systems, spheroids, organoids) for applications such as drug screening, toxicology, functional cell-based assays or diagnostics.

Strong interest in digitalisation, including omics-based readouts, data-driven analysis, biosensor and imaging-based assays and computational (AI-supported) methods.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to operate in a multidisciplinary academic-industrial environment.

Fluent in English, proficiency in French or German.
