Yard Logistics Dispatcher

Our client offers nationwide transport logistics in Switzerland for unaccompanied combined transport. The longest transport route is by rail, which significantly reduces the pre- and post-haul distances on the road. As your partner, they take care of all matters in transport logistics (single point of contact). They continuously monitor the entire transport chain and responsibly manage the final distribution of goods down to the pallet or roll container level.

Job Description

• Personnel management of directly subordinate employees as well as all yard logisticians and shunting specialists available during the shift,
• Ensuring the operational daily business and the transport chain via IT and its traceability
• Ensuring optimal and timely loading of trains
• Coordination of shunting operations using specialised software
• Incoming and outgoing inspection of trains and ensuring electronic recording
• Ensuring compliance with the cold chain
• Assisting with loading the trains
• Proactive communication with all stakeholders
• Control and filing/forwarding of delivery documents and reports (responsible)
• Control, recording and forwarding of damages and defects to vehicles and infrastructure as well as assisting with vehicle inspections
• Assisting in the further development and application of our software tools
• Monitoring compliance with legal requirements and regulations
• Organisation of relaxations and minor repairs in daily business
• Organising and carrying out cleaning work in the department and on the vehicles
• Participation in the continuous improvement process
• Co-responsibility for cleanliness and order at the hub
• Cross-hub collaboration and coordination

• Leadership experience, preferably in the logistics industry
• Training as a shunter

• Good IT user skills, preferably with modern dispatch tools (e.g. WANKO)
• Mandatory driving licence category B, category C or C/E advantageous
• Good technical understanding
• Experience in swap body and refrigerated/food sectors advantageous
• Knowledge of load securing and legal frameworks AZG/ARV advantageous
• Good written and spoken skills in the regional language, additional languages advantageous
