As our Teacher of Icelandic for the World Language Programme (WLP), you will be a passionate and dynamic educator, able to inspire students through a variety of creative teaching styles. Your role is to ensure that every student, whether learning Icelandic as a foreign or native language, develops the "future-ready" global competences that define the Ecolint mission to create a just and joyful tomorrow together.
About Ecolint & La Châtaigneraie
Founded in 1924, the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) is the world's first international school, educating 4,500 students from 130 nationalities across eight schools.
La Châtaigneraie, located in a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Geneva and the Alps, is a vibrant campus welcoming around 1,600 students from Primary through to Secondary. Our World Language Programme offers specialized language courses designed to foster cultural diversity, interaction with others, and a lifelong love for learning, while supporting and celebrating our diverse population of students.
Your role and responsibilities
- Teach Icelandic as a foreign or native language to all levels in the WLP programme.
- Attend regular Department meetings
- Regularly assess the progress of students and record and report those results to parents
- Ensure curriculum entitlement and progression is achieved for all students
Who we are looking for
You will thrive in this role if you possess:
- Strong experience of teaching Icelandic.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Icelandic.
- Previous experience working in an international school is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in both French and English to effectively communicate within our diverse school community.
- Excellent classroom management, strong organisational skills, and good communication skills with colleagues and parents.

- Ability to manage resources efficiently so that teaching and learning is effectively supported.
- Enthusiastic, passionate, and dynamic mindset with the capacity to adapt to a variety of creative teaching styles.
