Air Quality Measurement Specialist

Within the General Directorate of the Environment (DGE), the Directorate of Industrial, Urban and Rural Environment (DIREV) is responsible for protecting the population and the environment against pollution, damage and nuisances caused by human activities.

As an air quality measurement specialist in a team of 8 people, you are responsible for integrated measurement using passive sensors and gravimetry. You operate a measurement network extending across the entire cantonal territory and actively participate in monitoring atmospheric pollution and air quality.

Your skills allow you to adapt quickly and implement instruments and measurement techniques directly in the field. You enjoy varied activities, which lead you to work both in the field, in the laboratory and in the office.

• Ensure integrated measurements of atmospheric pollutant immission, notably by gravimetry and passive sensors.

• Prepare measurement equipment and carry out rounds throughout the cantonal territory.

• Analyse samples in the laboratory, process results and produce annual statistics.

• Contribute to the uninterrupted operation of the continuous air quality measurement network.

• Perform calibrations and preventive maintenance of measurement devices.

• Participate in specific measurement campaigns and intercomparison tests.

• Format data and produce summaries of air quality monitoring.

• Manage the laboratory and stocks, ensure technological watch.

• University of Applied Sciences degree in a technical field related to the measurement of physico-chemical parameters (laboratory, chemistry, biology, etc.).

• Laboratory practice, experience in quality assurance.

• Good command of computer tools.

• Ability to adapt and implement new techniques.

• Analytical and synthesis skills, good writing ability.

• Collaborative spirit, sense of responsibility and autonomy. Very good organisational and time management skills.

• Driving licence.
