The Opportunity
As a Senior Key Account Manager, you will take responsibility for a strategically important customer in the Swiss energy infrastructure sector. You will operate in a demanding, technically oriented environment and work closely with internal departments to develop sustainable solutions and long-term partnerships.
The focus of this role lies in the operational and strategic management of the customer, including the active leadership of tender and offer processes. You act as the central interface between the customer and Hitachi Energy, ensuring professional collaboration at all relevant levels.
What You Can Achieve
- Overall responsibility for a strategic key account in the network infrastructure sector (order intake, profitability, customer satisfaction)
- Building and maintaining long-term, resilient relationships with relevant customer stakeholders at all hierarchy levels, including C-level
- Ensuring a consistent, professional appearance of Hitachi Energy towards a central player in the Swiss energy supply
- Active participation and professional leadership of local tenders – from offer strategy through negotiation phase to contract conclusion
- Development and implementation of a customer-specific account and growth strategy (market positioning, pipeline, forecast, competitive environment)
- Close collaboration with internal business units and functions (sales, engineering, project management, service, etc.) to optimise solution and offer design
- Application and further development of standardised sales and CRM processes and tools (e.g. Salesforce, account plans, KPIs)
Your Background
- Completed university degree in engineering or a comparable qualification. Additional management qualification desirable
- Many years of experience in key account management or sales of complex technical solutions, ideally in energy generation, transmission and distribution networks, energy supply companies or data centres. Knowledge of Hitachi Energy’s product portfolio is desirable.
- Proven experience in managing complex customer relationships as well as in developing and implementing sales strategies.
- Skilled in successfully navigating the structures of a large corporation and market leader
- Extensive experience in handling and leading complex tenders
- Ability to work operationally with attention to detail while confidently presenting at top management level
- Very good knowledge of common sales, CRM and office tools
- Fluent German language skills, both spoken and written; fluent English; French skills are an advantage
