As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Solution Lab Manager for a temporary assignment of 12 months, with high probability of extension.
In the Solution Automation, Integration and Testing organization, Roche provides innovative automation solutions supporting Diagnostic Laboratories to optimize their workflow/intra-logistic processes, which result in an improvement in testing efficiency, service to clinicians and provided patient care. With the most complete portfolio in the market, the company offers the best-customized solution for every lab (low-, mid- and high-volume laboratories). We are looking for a motivated Lab and Test Manager to work together within a motivated team.
The solution laboratories consist of a variety of things, such as: diagnostic analyzers, sample transportation, physical and digital infrastructure and emulation devices as well as consumables and reagents. To develop and optimize an entire diagnostic laboratory solution, a functioning, well maintained and strategically forward looking laboratory is required, which serves as a customer like environment ready for solution testers to use.
The perfect candidate has had experience of running a laboratory in the field of medical diagnostics and is familiar with laboratory procedures and able to visualise the future laboratory strategy. The candidate possesses strong people and stakeholder management skills and has an affinity for understanding the relationship between HW/SW. In addition, a background in testing medical devices is required.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Manages, implements, oversees and authorizes the use of designated laboratory areas with regard to general laboratory operations (orientation, use, access, general supply replenishment, equipment, building, cleaning, inventory and maintenance), regulatory compliance (documentation) and general safety operations.
- Enforces safety and other required laboratory practices, with the independent authority to deny laboratory users room access, impose re-orientation, and contact the user's supervisor if necessary.
- Writes and manages laboratory documentation to ensure quality, safety and compliance.
- Resolves documentation issues with laboratory users.
- Acts and serves as point of contact for laboratory operations and support.
- Is responsible for the laboratory strategy and lifecycle and takes the lead to drive these topics forward in collaboration with Test Managers.
- Purchases reagents and consumables for the laboratory and its users.
- Performs standard or regular equipment maintenance tests if required.
- Coordinates calibration, certification, relocation and repair of existing equipment to minimize impact on project teams needing access to equipment.
- Mediates lab user conflicts.
- Coordinates and performs laboratory tours and provides safety introductions for visitors.
- Act as a Test Manager when required to ease the testing burden as required.
Must-Haves
- Min. Bachelor degree within a relevant field.
- Min. 3 years experience in laboratory, equipment, workflow and stakeholder management.
- Strong affinity and understanding of HW and SW and their interactions.
- Strong experience in integration or testing, ideally in the field of medical diagnostics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a "Solution thinking" mindset.
- English level at least B2 or higher.
- German level at least B2 or higher.
- Basic understanding of laboratory networks.
- Dynamic, flexible and solution oriented person.
- Good communication & presentation skills.
- Knowledge and experience to run cross contamination studies.
- Knowledge to run simulated environments on IT Solutions.
