Nurse for the Care and Support Team for Specialised Institutions
The Women-Mother-Child Department is seeking a Nurse at 40% FTE to complete the Care and Support Team for Specialised Institutions.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
Within the Women-Mother-Child Department, the paediatrics service offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children aged 0 to 18 years. It maintains close links with other department services such as neonatology, paediatric surgery, adolescent medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics.
The Care and Support Team (CST) is a second-line resource whose main mandate is to contribute to improving the quality of care and medical safety in specialised schools in Vaud.
The mobile team is integrated into a networked approach.
The 4 work areas of the CST are:
1- Medical and nursing advice for OSPES (Office of Specialised Education)
2- Support for educational-pedagogical-therapeutic and nursing teams
3- Training on demand from institutions
4- Quality improvement projects for care and systems.
Mission
- You coordinate care with the various partners involved with the child or young person in the institution
- You ensure an interdisciplinary approach to care and develop networking, respecting the values and operating methods of each care setting
- You act as a nursing care expert in the field of quality of care, in collaboration with the CST’s referring physician
- You advise, train and support frontline teams in institutions in their care approach, in improving care quality and in supporting the care of children and young people with disabilities.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Nursing HES (or an equivalent qualification as well as Red Cross Recognition, mandatory)
- You have several years of experience in paediatrics and/or in specialised institutions for children and adolescents
- You are motivated and reflective, with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and a highly developed sense of active listening
- You possess decision-making abilities and creativity
- You demonstrate patience and discernment
- You show interest in children and young people with disabilities and the issue of quality of life for children with impairments
- You have training in clinical assessment, an asset
- You have good knowledge of institutions, CHUV and the Vaud health network
- You hold a driving licence and have a private vehicle: essential
- You are available and flexible in scheduling
- You are capable of interdisciplinary and networked work.
