The department’s mission is to detect and effectively treat increasingly frequent and diverse pathologies while respecting patients and their relatives.
Quality teaching is also provided by the department to students as well as to doctors in training for specialist certification, raising awareness of psychological, biological, and social dimensions. The department also supports quality training in psychotherapy.
Finally, the department seeks to understand the origins of mental disorders through cognitive and affective neurosciences, a true flagship of the Geneva site. To this end, it conducts patient-oriented academic and clinical research of a high standard.
The psychiatric specialties service provides diagnosis and care for adult patients with the following issues: difficulties within couples and families, autism spectrum and intellectual development disorders, sexology, mood disorders, and emotional regulation disorders.

You have postgraduate training related to the targeted population or are ready to engage in it.
You possess the required practice licence in the canton of Geneva. For more information, please consult the State of Geneva website.
You have 3 to 5 years of experience in psychiatric nursing. Experience with people with intellectual disabilities or training or experience in behavioural approaches (e.g. ABA, behaviour-based interventions) is a significant asset.
You demonstrate good analytical and synthesis skills and are comfortable in interdisciplinary relationships. You are also capable of ensuring effective coordination with other mental health professionals and the canton’s disability network.
