What you can look forward to.
About 14,000 employees in passenger transport ensure that the over 1.4 million SBB customers we carry daily have easy access to public transport and travel safely and punctually from A to B. The shunting staff, as a central professional group, make a key contribution to this. An innovative working environment awaits you, where you will move the SBB together with your team colleagues, as well as a varied and paid training. In addition, you have various internal training opportunities. Attractive working conditions are important to us, even with irregular working hours. Night and weekend work is additionally compensated - for example, with 16 francs per hour for Sunday work. For night shifts, you also receive time bonuses between 10 and 30%. This means you have more free time than employees without night and weekend shifts.
What you can achieve.
- You prepare passenger trains for their journey and move them in the station and its surroundings (up to max. 40 km/h) to the correct departure point.
- In doing so, you assemble trains, separate individual wagons, and ensure that everything is in the right place.
- You make the train ready to start, check the most important functions, and carry out brake checks.
- During your work, you keep an overview and ensure that all processes run safely and smoothly.
- You independently resolve minor faults or report them to the responsible authority.
What you bring with you.
- You are attentive, focused, and physically resilient to successfully manage this demanding work in a 24-hour shift operation. In addition, you enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Since all instructions and documentation are electronic, you will quickly become familiar with digital tools.
- You have completed basic training (at least EBA) and already bring practical experience - ideally from a craft or logistics environment.
- You have good knowledge of German, both spoken and written (level B2).
- You have perfect colour vision (no red/green colour blindness).
Your salary and benefits.
We have a fair and progressive salary system and actively promote pay equality. Therefore, further and detailed information about the salary system at SBB is transparently available. This position is at requirement level E, regional allowance level 0. More about salary and benefits .
