Fixed-term position for two years with option for extension
The Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at the University Children's Hospital is part of the University Comprehensive Cancer Center Inselspital. The Centre for Paediatric and Adolescent Oncology cares for patients with the full spectrum of haematological and oncological diseases, including autologous stem cell transplantation. The department runs numerous innovative and internationally recognised research projects aimed at improving diagnostics, treatment, and long-term prognosis for children and adolescents with cancer. As a Study Nurse in paediatric oncology, you will work closely with the team of nurses, APNs, and doctors at the forefront of patient care to ensure optimal treatment of patients and sustainably improve their chances of cure.
What to expect
30%:
- Coordination and support of investigator-initiated clinical studies (Sponsor: Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group (SPOG)) and the pharmaceutical industry as well as various registries in the field of paediatric haematology and oncology (HONK)
- Structured and careful collection, processing, and documentation of study data in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Close collaboration and coordination of study-related communication with principal investigators, sponsors, clinical research coordinators/study nurses, laboratories, and other partners at national and international levels
- Planning, organisation, and conduct of study-related patient visits in close cooperation with the interdisciplinary treatment team
- Assumption of diverse clinical support tasks to ensure structured and efficient patient care
- Preparation, participation, and follow-up of monitorings, audits, and inspections
- Maintenance and management of study-relevant documents (e.g. Investigator Site File, Delegation Log, Training Log)
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. SOPs, SAE reports)
- Active involvement in the continuous optimisation of workflows and processes within clinical research
- Recruitment and support of study participants and their relatives for the successful conduct of the Swiss 2024 Fever Monitoring Study
- Management and review of study data (including vital data, CRFs, and REDCap) to ensure high data quality as well as support for monitorings and audits
What you bring
- Completed training as a qualified nurse HF/FH or a comparable medical qualification
- Careful, structured, and independent working style with high initiative and sense of responsibility
- A flair for administrative tasks, enjoyment of interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
- Fluent German skills and good English skills for the creation, processing, and documentation of study-relevant documents
- Good IT user skills
- Experience in conducting clinical studies and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) advantageous
- Nursing experience in paediatrics or knowledge in oncology desirable
