The Saxerriet Correctional Facility is an open penal institution for men with a total of 135 places. It has differentiated enforcement concepts and a diverse range of workplaces.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a
Head of Custodial Department (m/f/d)
from 1 February 2027 or by arrangement
Workload: 80%

What to expect
- Responsibility for the personnel, professional and organisational management of the custodial area
- Ensuring a legally compliant, humane and orderly penal enforcement, including adherence to detention forms, observation and duty of care towards the inmates
- Responsibility for reporting and enforcement coordination, in particular admission and discharge planning as well as the associated organisational processes
- Active participation in enforcement planning, case management, implementation of enforcement and ROS guidelines, and therapy forms
- As a member of the management team, jointly responsible for the proper operation, security and strategic orientation of the institution
- Responsibility for the professional training and further education of the team, active involvement in the training of new employees and support in projects
What distinguishes you
- Completed tertiary education in one of the fields of law, psychology or social sciences
- Several years of professional experience, ideally in penal enforcement or a comparable field
- Project experience desirable, leadership experience an advantage
- Analytical thinking, motivational ability, assertiveness, organisational and negotiation skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- In a demanding environment, you act resiliently and calmly
- Teamwork and collaboration are very important to you
