Professor in the Field of Digital Spaces (60-80%)
University of Art and Design Basel FHNW, Institute of Digital Communication Environments
- Develop learning methods, theories and practices in the field of Digital Spaces and strengthen education and research in this area.
- Acquire third-party funded research projects, write scientific publications, communicate research results through conferences, festivals and exhibitions.
- Actively participate in the development of the BA degree programme, including networking research and teaching within HGK and FHNW.
- Network and position the Digital Spaces field in the regional and international context.
- Expand cooperation with practical partners.
You hold a university degree (MA) and ideally a doctorate (PhD) or equivalent profile with several years of research experience in a design or related field.
In addition, you meet the following criteria:
- You bring a well-defined several years of research experience and teaching activity, especially in one or more of the following areas: Interaction Design, Critical Media, Digital Social Spaces, Digital Scenography, Generative AI, OSINT, UX/UI Design, Signage, Data Literacy, Digital Cultures and Technologies.
- You have an established research network, can demonstrate high-quality research results and have successfully acquired third-party funding for research projects.
- You have experience with innovative teaching methods and conducting high-quality, research-led and practice-oriented teaching.
- You possess excellent communication skills and organisational abilities.
- You have a higher education didactic qualification or the willingness to acquire one during the first years.
- You have very good German and English skills, both spoken and written.
