About the job
Your next career step - from management support to your own responsibility
In this role, you work directly with the COO and gain deep insight into the operational and strategic management of a dynamic industrial company. You are explicitly not operating in a classic assistant environment. You take on issues from the operational and strategic day-to-day business, structure complex topics, analyse figures and processes, and support the development of concrete and implementable solutions from ideas.
You work on group-wide initiatives, site-related projects, and process optimisations, and with increasing experience, you independently take responsibility for projects and areas of focus.
We are looking for a personality who does not wait for fully formulated assignments but quickly recognises connections, asks the right questions, and consistently drives topics to completion.
For an ambitious individual, this position offers the opportunity to develop closely with operational management and gradually take on your own project, result, and prospectively leadership responsibilities.
You report directly to the COO and work closely with him on operational, commercial, and strategic issues. Your main areas include:
- Structuring, analysing, and handling operational and strategic issues
- Preparing decision-making bases for management and consistently following up on agreed measures
- Developing business and market analyses, profitability calculations, and project budgeting
- Supporting M&A, investment, and strategic development projects
- Creating and presenting analyses, evaluations, and management presentations
- Analysing processes, causes of errors, and operational weaknesses as well as developing concrete improvement proposals
- Coordinating and independently driving group-wide and site-related projects
- Close collaboration with management teams, site managers, and various specialist departments
- Taking on selected organisational and coordinative tasks in the direct environment of the COO
You are enthusiastic about industry, trade, and entrepreneurial contexts and want to develop your career long-term in a future-oriented sector.
You are characterised in particular by taking responsibility, quickly familiarising yourself with new topics, and not only analysing tasks but consistently driving them to completion.
Further facets of your profile include:
- Business administration training or a completed degree
- Initial relevant professional experience, for example in management consulting, auditing, corporate development, business controlling, project management, or a comparable environment
- Experience in leading, coordinating, or implementing projects
- Strong numerical understanding and the ability to quickly structure complex contexts
- Entrepreneurial thinking and interest in industrial value creation processes and trade
- High initiative, implementation strength, and a pronounced hands-on mentality
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and develop pragmatic solutions even with incomplete information
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
- Very good digital user competence, especially in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as affinity for data analysis and modern digital work tools
- Strong communication skills and confident handling of different contacts and hierarchical levels
- Loyalty, discretion, and reliability
- With your job, you actively contribute to environmental protection and resource conservation
- Lots of freedom, independence, and responsibility in your tasks
- Stability and a secure workplace
- Flat hierarchies and uncomplicated decision-making processes
- Family-like corporate culture: with us, you are not just a number
- At least 25 days holiday / 30 days from the 11th year of service or from the age of 50
- Thommen Academy (internal training and development opportunities for our employees)
- Good social benefits (above-average continued salary payment in case of accident and illness, pension fund without loss risk)
