To strengthen the Planning and Analysis team, the Financial Service of the University of Lausanne is looking for a financial analyst at 80%.
The person holding the position will contribute to the preparation and implementation of the University’s budget and financial planning. They will also participate in the strategic management of resources, management control, as well as the development of reporting and decision-support tools.

Your Activities
In your activities, you will be expected to:
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of the overall budget process as well as the University’s multi-year financial planning;
- Consolidate budgets prepared by faculties, central services, and the Directorate;
- Prepare files and documents necessary for budget negotiations and decisions by the Directorate;
- Collect and consolidate data necessary for the University’s financial planning, notably for the State of Vaud;
- Ensure budget control within your scope and participate in consolidating the University’s budget controls;
- Analyse financial data and prepare various internal and external reports;
- Develop draft reports for supervisory authorities, the Directorate, as well as faculties and services;
- Carry out budget transfers in SAP from the Directorate to faculties and services;
- Contribute to the development of cost accounting, dashboards, and management control tools;
- Participate in improving financial tools and processes, notably in SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud;
- Prepare and update documentation related to financial processes, including procedures and materials for users;
- Inform, train, and advise faculties and services on budgetary processes and financial tools;
- Provide support to faculties and services for any questions related to financial planning and analysis.
Your Profile
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a person holding one of the following qualifications:
- A federal diploma in accounting and/or finance;
- A university master’s degree in economics, complemented by significant professional experience in the field;
- A diploma from a business school, complemented by significant professional experience in the field.
You have at least two to three years of professional experience in a similar role, within a public administration or the private sector, preferably in controlling.
You are proficient in SAP FI-CO, Business Intelligence tools, and common computer software, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud is an asset.
You possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills and work with precision, autonomy, and rigour. You show initiative, good organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of financial issues.
Comfortable in professional relationships, you enjoy teamwork and can communicate clearly with a variety of interlocutors. Your sense of service, discretion, and respect for confidentiality complete your profile.
You are also able to demonstrate flexibility in organising your working time during busy periods, notably during budget preparation, financial planning, and budget controls.
