Genesupport is a centre of expertise in genetics and a medical analysis laboratory specialised in human genetics. The laboratory offers comprehensive services in prenatal, paediatric and adult genetics, bringing together extensive expertise in molecular genetics, conventional cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics as well as cytogenomics. Genesupport is a member of the Sonic Suisse local laboratory network.Job Objective
Join our committed team within the Genesupport laboratory and participate, in this key role, in building the future of our leading and innovative company.
We are looking for a biomedical analysis technician to join our team within our MOLECULAR GENETICS department. Experience in first trimester screening would be an asset and would also allow, depending on needs, participation in this activity.
Your impact in this role
- You receive and handle samples in compliance with laboratory procedures.
- You participate in the daily performance of molecular genetics diagnostic analyses.
- You carry out the technical validation and quality control of analyses.
- You participate in the computerised entry of results and clinical data.
- Depending on your skills and the laboratory’s needs, you may also participate in first trimester screening activities, including sample reception, risk analysis, as well as data entry and result follow-up.
Your background and expertise
- You ideally hold a diploma as a biomedical analysis technician (TAB) or have equivalent training/experience.
- You have already worked in a medical analysis laboratory and have experience in diagnostic molecular genetics.
- You have good knowledge of the main molecular biology techniques used in diagnostics, notably PCR, real-time PCR and MLPA.
- Additional experience in first trimester screening is an advantage.
- You are a motivated, dynamic person with a strong interest in scientific analysis and development.
- You have a team spirit and are communicative.
- You demonstrate rigour, proactivity, organisational skills, versatility and autonomy.
- You have a good command of common IT tools (Microsoft Office) and the adaptability to use new software.
- Written/scientific English knowledge is required. Knowledge of German would be an asset.
