About the job
Would you like to combine leadership responsibility in psychiatry with predictable leisure time? In a specialised inpatient unit in the Bern area, you will find a familiar team, a broad professional activity with development opportunities, and a manageable management duty system in a natural environment.
Our client is an established specialist clinic for psychiatry and psychotherapy in the Bern area with inpatient, day clinic and outpatient services. You will take responsibility for a psychotherapeutically oriented unit with around 25-26 therapy places. The focus is on depression and burnout as well as modern psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic treatment concepts. The team consists of 22 employees. This includes three assistant doctors, nursing professionals as well as staff from psychology, psychotherapy and peer work. The management is carried out jointly with nursing and psychology. The collaboration is characterised by a lived informal culture, short decision-making paths, flat hierarchies and a familiar working atmosphere in which interprofessional exchange takes place on an equal footing.
Your tasks:
- Medical-therapeutic, organisational and conceptual co-management of the inpatient psychotherapy unit together with nursing management and senior psychologist
- Clinical responsibility with reports, ward rounds as well as admission and discharge management and close relation to patient care
- Personnel management on the medical side as well as supervision, teaching and further training of assistant doctors
- Further development of evidence-based psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic treatment concepts
- Participation in quality assurance, clinic-wide projects and - depending on professional profile - further therapeutic tasks
Your skills:
- Specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or corresponding recognised or recognisable qualification from EU/EFTA
- Sound knowledge in psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as well as interest in the treatment of depression and burnout
- Good German skills in spoken and written form
- Reflective and empathetic leadership personality with decisiveness and enjoyment of interprofessional collaboration
- If you have a foreign degree, we support you in the placement process for the MEBEKO recognition both advisory and financially
Your benefits:
- Predictable medical routine: 42-hour week, about 1-2 weekend duties per quarter
- Time for recovery: 25 days’ holiday up to 44 years, 27 days from 45 and 32 days from 55; plus duty compensation of a further 10 days
- Close to nature yet well connected: green clinic grounds with park and animal enclosure as well as good accessibility by public transport and car; the Bern region offers forests, rivers, lakes and diverse leisure opportunities
- Professional development remains part of the position: internal and external training, SIWF-certified training centre as well as, with appropriate qualification, the prospect of a deputy chief physician role
- Transparent salary level: fixed salary depending on experience and responsibility; a higher overall package is possible with additional project or clinic tasks
