About the job
Do you want to work broadly in radiology and not just report on sectional images all day?
In this position, radiology remains clinically tangible: you work in a regional acute hospital near Bern, independently perform sonographic examinations, and are in direct exchange with the referring departments. Besides CT, MRI, conventional radiology, and mammography diagnostics, sonography plays an important role in everyday work.
The position is suitable for radiologists who think clinically, enjoy examining themselves, and want to contribute their experience in a personal hospital environment. Candidates from Germany are also welcome, provided they have practical sonography experience and plan to move to Switzerland.
The institute is part of a regionally anchored acute hospital near Bern. The radiology department cares for outpatient and inpatient patients and covers a broad diagnostic spectrum.
The infrastructure includes CT, MRI, conventional radiology, ultrasound, and mammography diagnostics. Sonography is particularly important as it is performed independently and closely linked to the clinical questions of the referring departments.
The team works in manageable structures with short decision-making paths and direct professional exchange. Depending on experience, individual focuses can be introduced or further developed, for example in mammography diagnostics, MSK, or interventions.
Your tasks:
- Reporting on CT, MRI, and conventional radiological examinations
- Independent performance and reporting of sonographic examinations
- Radiological care of outpatient and inpatient patients
- Participation in interdisciplinary reports and case discussions
- Close collaboration with the referring departments
- Depending on experience, opportunity to contribute to or specialise in mammography diagnostics, interventions, or other focus areas
Your competencies:
- Specialist title in radiology, recognised in Germany or the EU; support with recognition in Switzerland through Medimeo
- Practical experience in sonography and enjoyment of independent performance
- Confident knowledge in CT and MRI diagnostics
- Interest in broad clinical radiology in a Swiss acute hospital
- Independent, careful, and structured working style
- Motivation to establish yourself long-term in Switzerland
- Very good German language skills
Your benefits:
- No early commitment to a narrow subspecialisation
- Collegial team with good professional support
- Modern infrastructure and varied clinical questions
- Modern workplace in an attractive region between mountains, lake, and city
- Option to purchase additional holiday days
- Support in balancing work and family, including childcare
- Discounts in the region, e.g. for sports, leisure, and mobility
- Support with MEBEKO recognition, application process, and questions about moving to Switzerland through Medimeo
