Class and annual salary (including 13th month):

3 52,756.-- / 81,560.--

Tasks:

• routine and extraordinary maintenance of the nursery, gardens, flowerbeds, trees and green areas; carrying out planting, pruning, seed collection and management, irrigation and care of plant species
• production and management of nursery material
• use and routine maintenance of machinery, equipment and service vehicles; management of the composting site and areas for collecting plant waste
• control of correct separation and disposal of compostable materials
• monitoring of composting processes and maintaining order and safety of the facility
• assistance and information to users; completion of registers, activity reports and technical documentation
• collaboration with the service manager and other municipal operators
• training, guidance and supervision of apprentices in the gardening sector
• planning and monitoring of the training pathway in collaboration with the competent authorities and vocational schools
• periodic assessment of apprentices’ professional skills
• promotion of compliance with safety regulations and good professional practices during training

Requirements:

• Federal Certificate of Competence (FCC) as gardener or forester
• Category B driving licence (possession of forklift licence and category BE and C driving licences may be considered an advantage)
• proven experience in nursery work and plant waste management
• experience with the use of phytosanitary products (with phytosanitary product use certificate or willingness to obtain one)
• aptitude for manual maintenance work on tools and machines provided
• experience in managing and training apprentices. Qualification as a company trainer or willingness to obtain it within an agreed timeframe
• proven professionalism and impeccable conduct
• good physical condition, flexibility, willingness to work at high and irregular rhythms
• initiative, adaptability and good team working skills
• willingness to take on responsibilities
• willingness to attend training and professional development courses
• good knowledge of the Ticino cantonal context

Employment conditions:

• working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment rate), flexible or according to service needs
