In this responsible role, you accompany people with cancer and their relatives through diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare, supporting them in coping with fears, burdens, and crises. You independently conduct the psycho-oncological consultation in the outpatient area, care for patients in oncology and the palliative care ward in the consultation service, and ensure a well-founded psycho-oncological assessment. In addition, you advise relatives as well as the treating teams and help ensure that those affected receive appropriate support in a timely manner. You work closely with an interprofessional environment where your professional expertise is as much in demand as your sensitive understanding of people in difficult life situations.
Responsibilities:
- You accompany patients and their relatives on their often challenging journey with empathy, presence, and competence
- In this role, you independently conduct the psycho-oncological consultation in the outpatient area
- As a psycho-oncologist, you care for inpatients in oncology and the palliative care ward in the consultation service
- You regularly engage at the Langnau site as well, thus ensuring psycho-oncological care throughout the entire catchment area
- In this role, you work closely with a committed, interprofessional team
- As a psycho-oncologist, you shape your work with closeness, professionalism, and a deep understanding of people in crisis situations
Qualifications:
- You hold a professional title as a federally recognised psychotherapist or are in advanced training for this
- Ideally, you have further training in psycho-oncology and bring experience in the oncological environment
- You are characterised by empathy, resilience, and enjoyment of interprofessional collaboration
- You respond flexibly to different situations and are at the same time stable and reliable for patients and your team
- You have very good German language skills, both spoken and written
