Your mission
- Lead and develop the team: Lead your team professionally and disciplinarily, set clear goals, develop employees through feedback and coaching, and jointly acquire new talents with HR.
- Strengthen trust and learning culture: Create an open environment for questions, mistakes, and different perspectives; resolve conflicts constructively and ensure sustainable work practices.
- Shape priorities and planning: Translate development goals into clear priorities and realistic planning. Make risks and dependencies visible and coordinate capacities, resource needs, and bottlenecks.
- Co-design architecture and software implementation: Support requirements analysis, architecture, and technology decisions. Coordinate the creation of rule models and their implementation in software as well as the development of reusable modern C++ components for medical technology products with Embedded Linux or SafeRTOS. Participate operationally in the development team if necessary; the leadership and development of your employees remains central.
- Strengthen collaboration and engineering standards: Clarify interfaces and expectations with departments and product teams, promote knowledge transfer, standards, and best practices, and coordinate support for platform adoption, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Further develop quality and processes: Continuously improve our existing compliant development and quality processes, especially code reviews, build automation, CI/CD, tests, and releases. Ensure regulatory compliance and technical documentation and coordinate your team’s contributions to risk analyses, cybersecurity measures, and change management. Evaluate new working methods and AI tools for benefit and suitability.
Your talents
- Experience in professional or disciplinary leadership, goal setting, delegation, feedback, and employee development
- Solid knowledge and practical experience in modern C++ as well as several years of experience in embedded software development. In-depth knowledge of Embedded Linux or hardware-near software; experience in control engineering is an advantage. Good understanding of hardware-software interaction and the ability to analyse complex problems structurally and assess architecture, software quality, and testability thoroughly
- Experience in the use and validation of AI-supported development tools as well as critical evaluation of the results achieved
- Clear communication, active listening, and constructive conflict resolution; ability to bring together different perspectives
- Knowledge of compliant software development and quality processes in the medical field, including documentation, verification, and pragmatic evaluation of new working methods and tools
- Completed studies in computer science or a comparable technical field or equivalent qualification through relevant professional experience
- Very good German and English skills
- Advantageous: practical experience with the Yocto Project or SafeRTOS
