Job Description

In this role, you take on the strategic responsibility for our range in electrical wholesale and actively shape the market position of Elektro-Material AG. You lead the category management team as well as the product managers, consistently develop our portfolio and ensure that we inspire our customers with a competitive, profitable and future-oriented offer. 

Your tasks:

• Overall responsibility for the category cluster assortment strategies
• Management of category marketing and implementation of defined strategies in collaboration with MarCom and suppliers
• Increase competitiveness and profitability of the category clusters as well as strengthen marketability in coordination with pricing and sales
• Ensure price and product life cycle management
• Lead and participate in interdisciplinary projects as well as further develop processes, data quality and performance management
• Ensure and further develop category information management at headquarters, with sales and the group
• Build and expand long-term partnerships with key suppliers as well as close cooperation with strategic purchasing and operations
• Leadership, coaching and development of the category management team 
• Promote an open, trusting and performance-oriented team culture as well as act as a sparring partner on equal footing for management and stakeholders

Qualifications

You have sound technical knowledge and have furthered your education in sales, marketing or business administration. In addition, you bring several years of leadership experience, ideally in product or category management in (electrical) wholesale or a related industry of our sector. As a convincing leader, you combine strategic thinking with implementation strength, analytical sharpness and a high standard of quality. 

• Technical basic training and further education in sales, marketing or business administration at the level of federally recognised diploma FA, BSc or MSc
• Several years of leadership experience in a similar role as well as experience in product or category management
• Sound knowledge in assortment design, pricing and category development
• Confident analysis of market and customer needs as well as competition
• Enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration, project responsibility, process optimisation and structured working methods
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with clear, binding communication
• Confident German language skills as well as fluent English in spoken and written form.
