Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
A position for a 60% sociocultural animator is open within the Rinia Contact Association.
Job Description
- Take responsibility for the free reception of an intergenerational public (pre-teens, teenagers, young adults aged 12 to 25, adults and seniors), in accordance with the association's institutional project
- Participate in the development of associative life and promote intercultural exchanges, adhering to the association's values of tolerance and respect for differences
- Be aligned with the objectives of integration, citizenship, prevention and environmental awareness
- Undertake tasks related to projects implemented by the association
- Actively participate in the development of the activity programme and the monitoring of the associative project in consultation with the team and the committee
- Assume management tasks related to activities
- Collaborate actively and regularly with social actors in the field
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialised Educator (DEES), Higher State Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS))
- Proven experience in sociocultural animation with different types of populations: teenagers, general public, interest in working in a place open to a multicultural population
- Initiative, versatility, autonomy, creativity, ability to take responsibility
- Ability to work independently while working as part of a team
- Interest and sensitivity to discovering various cultures and artistic genres within a small association
- Ability and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team in line with the objectives of the institutional project
- Recognised skills in project conceptualisation and management
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social system and the functioning of FASe
- Organisational and planning skills, while knowing how to manage priorities and emergencies
- Ability to use common computer software, skills and mastery of current communication tools would be an additional asset
Additional Information
- Availability, openness to flexible and irregular hours (activities on Friday evenings and weekends, during school holidays, including Christmas holidays)
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 15
