To complete our team at the Paediatric Neurology Service of the Institute of Paediatrics of Italian Switzerland, we are looking for a
IPSI Assistant Psychologist for Cantonal Accreditation (100%)
Profile:
The internship is aimed at psychologists who need to carry out clinical practice as assistant psychologists, aimed at obtaining the certificate of free practice of the psychologist profession in the healthcare sector in the Canton of Ticino.
The candidate holds a master’s degree, licence or diploma in psychology pursuant to Art.2 LPPsi or, only for EU countries, a foreign qualification + possible state authorisation + recognition of the qualification by the Federal Office of Public Health PsiCo.
The assistant psychologist will be integrated into an interdisciplinary team that carries out diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents referred to the Paediatric Neurology Service, taking care of their management.
Assessments are carried out both in the presence of neurological or neurodevelopmental problems and in cases of suspicion, and are requested by paediatricians throughout the Ticino territory and by IPSI specialist doctors.
The assistant psychologist is accompanied and supervised by the Service professionals with the aim of gradually acquiring autonomy in conducting consultations, assessments, drafting assessment reports and collaborating with external bodies such as schools and other external professionals.
The future colleague has a strong predisposition for human contact, ease in relationships with patients in developmental age as well as with their families and other involved professionals; has high motivation and the ability to work both in a multidisciplinary team and independently, combined with strong interpersonal skills and ease in interpersonal relationships. Having started or intending to start training in neuropsychology or psychotherapy, as well as the aptitude to work in a hospital context with children who have neurodevelopmental conditions, are considered advantageous.
In addition to perfect command of the Italian language, they know a second national language.
