The GSR Speech Therapy School in Aesch (www.gsr.ch) educates and supports, on behalf of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft, children and young people with severe speech acquisition disorders, communication and/or hearing impairments from the cantons of BL, BS, AG and SO from kindergarten to the end of lower secondary level (Level A).

For the overall management and further development of our Speech Therapy School, we are seeking, by arrangement, a committed and experienced leader as Head of Speech Therapy School (SHS) and member of the Executive Board (100%).

What you can achieve:

• You bear the operational, personnel and educational overall responsibility for the Speech Therapy School.
• You develop the SHS together with the team leaders in a future-oriented manner and ensure the pedagogical-therapeutic quality.
• You lead and support the team leaders of the teaching and therapy areas as well as the heads of day care and kitchen, the specialist in social pedagogy/school social work and the school secretariat.
• You are responsible for the overarching personnel, workload and class planning, thereby creating the conditions for an orderly school operation.
• You represent the SHS towards authorities, specialist offices and cooperation partners and maintain regional as well as supra-regional networking.
• As a member of the Executive Board, you help shape the operational further development of the GSR Foundation and work closely with the Managing Director and the Speech Therapy School Committee.

What you bring with you:

• You have a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in education, ideally in school special education or speech therapy.
• You have completed school leadership training or an equivalent further education.
• You bring more than five years of leadership experience, ideally in an educational environment, as well as preferably experience in the special education sector.
• You have experience in school development, quality management and in accompanying change processes.
• You are familiar with the regional and Swiss educational landscape as well as special education.
