Retail Specialist Textile (60%)
Caritas Zurich is an independent Catholic charity. We advocate for families affected by poverty and disadvantaged individuals, regardless of nationality and worldview. In doing so, we make a significant contribution to their social integration in the Canton of Zurich.
The Secondhand Stores department currently includes six shops in Zurich and Winterthur, as well as an online shop. The proceeds from the sale of donated clothes, shoes, and accessories benefit our social projects. The secondhand stores represent the Caritas brand and stand for solidarity, sustainability, and well-maintained secondhand.
Due to a personnel change at Asylstrasse 94 in Zurich, we are looking for a Retail Specialist Textile (60%) starting October 1, 2025, or by agreement.
Your tasks
- Professional advice and support for our customers
- Receiving donated clothes
- Sorting and evaluating donated clothing items, accessories, and hard goods
- Working at the cash register and preparing daily accounts
- Maintaining the store and workspaces
- Caring for the donated clothes
- Designing the shop windows
- Accompanying volunteers and individuals in integration programs
- Participating in team meetings and company events
Our requirements
You are a motivated, independent, and reliable person with a passion for secondhand clothing and its sustainability concept. You want to bring your strong interest in fashion, your good sense for trends, and your knowledge of fashion labels to us. Additionally, you bring the following:
- Completed training as a retail specialist (textile sector) or several years of experience in sales in the textile industry
- High social competence and enjoyment in dealing with people
- Resilient personality
- Quick comprehension and eagerness to learn new things
- Experienced use of electronic communication tools (MS Teams)
- Very good German language skills
The workplace is in Zurich.
Start date: 01.10.2025 or by agreement.
