As a Senior SAP Solution Architect, you play a key role in developing our critical SAP platform for the company. You are responsible for the architecture of complex SAP solutions and actively contribute to the strategic evolution of our SAP environment. In this context, you work closely with the business units, external implementation partners, as well as internal architecture and operations teams. You also provide technical leadership for demanding SAP projects. You translate business needs into sustainable solution architectures and support their implementation from the initial idea through to successful production deployment. You combine strategic thinking with technical expertise. You collaborate closely with our SAP specialists, Service Owners, project managers, external implementation partners, operations teams, and Enterprise Architects. You define principles and standards for designing solution architectures and platforms within your Business Unit, while cooperating with other IT departments.
You are passionate about the continuous improvement of SAP operations and excel in system analysis and design, leadership, platform architecture, and governance. You are responsible for solution architectures within the SAP landscape and ensure, together with Enterprise Architecture and neighbouring platform architects, their integration into the overall IT architecture. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing the SAP platform architecture and contributing to the definition and implementation of Swissgrid’s SAP strategy
- Designing end-to-end solution architectures for SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud applications, and related systems, including their integration with third-party systems
- Providing technical leadership for SAP projects and integration initiatives, as well as owning technical designs throughout the project lifecycle
- Participating in the technical implementation of complex initiatives by developing prototypes, integration concepts, technical specifications, and advanced solutions
- Advising and supporting Service Owners and business units on complex issues, particularly in Finance, Controlling, Procurement, and Asset Management
- Utilising and developing the SAP Business Technology Platform while identifying and evaluating new technology trends to meet the company’s future needs
- Advancing SAP governance and ensuring compliance with architecture principles, standards, quality requirements, and data architecture guidelines in close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture
For this Senior SAP Solution Architect position, we are looking for a proactive and autonomous personality who values interdisciplinary collaboration and can focus on the essentials. You have an excellent ability to structure complex topics and communicate them clearly and understandably. You combine conceptual strength with a pragmatic, implementation-oriented approach.
Even in situations where interests diverge, you know how to find sustainable solutions and defend your architectural decisions with conviction. You work independently, reliably, and with a strong focus on quality.
- University degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent training
- Several years of experience as a SAP Solution Architect, SAP Enterprise Architect, SAP Technical Lead, or in a similar role
- Deep expertise in at least one of our main SAP modules (FI/CO, SD, HR, MM, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of SAP architecture principles, integrations (e.g. REST, OData, Business APIs), data models, and governance processes
- Experience in technical leadership of SAP initiatives and collaboration with external implementation and operations partners
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and coordination skills combined with solid pragmatism
- Very good knowledge of German and English; knowledge of French is an advantage
