Social Worker 80%The Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, as well as the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Bachtel Correctional Centre (VZB) is one of the enforcement facilities of the Canton of Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – and is an institution specialised in open enforcement of custodial and substitute custodial sentences. The VZB offers accommodation for over 90 detainees.
We are looking for an experienced, committed and socially competent individual for our social service with immediate effect or by arrangement.
Your area of responsibility
- Support and counselling of detainees in personal and factual matters
- Resource-oriented support during enforcement, including accompaniment in the day structure integration enforcement (IVO) if required
- Activation and promotion of detainees with special needs in the various structures of the VZB (normal enforcement and special enforcement with individual single settings)
- Preparation of enforcement relaxations (e.g. leave arrangements) as well as conditional release, enforcement planning, enforcement reports
- Close interdisciplinary cooperation within the framework of transition management with internal and external partners
- Supervision of interns and pre-interns
Your profile
- Completed degree in Social Work and professional experience in dealing with mentally ill and addiction-affected clients
- Strong empathy, assertiveness and ability to work in a team
- High flexibility and openness to new challenges
- Willingness for continuous professional and personal development to meet the changing demands of modern correctional services
- Very good oral and written German skills as well as knowledge of other languages
- Confident handling of MS365
- Advantageous if practical training is available
- Minimum age 25 years and an impeccable reputation
