Our client is not looking for a simple technical executor or a "back-office" developer. They wish to integrate a true thinking partner, capable of carrying a global vision, bridging the gap between business and technology, and managing the evolution of a strategic application heritage.

Attached to a team of experts and endowed with great autonomy, your missions revolve around analysis, design, and consulting:

Existing System Analysis & Business Understanding: Dive into the company’s business processes. Dissect and master the workings of the existing application heritage (programmes, flows, complex processes).

Framing & Specifications: Receive the needs expressed in the functional specifications, grasp the business stakes, and translate them into detailed technical specifications with a real overview.

Consulting & Challenge Attitudes: Provide a critical and constructive view of the existing system. You do not hesitate to question certain existing solutions to propose more relevant technical or functional alternatives.

Design & Evolution: Ensure the complete realisation of application components (design, development under COOL:Gen/COBOL, unit and integration testing) up to production deployment.

Maintenance: Participate in preventive and evolutionary maintenance of the application portfolio and intervene on on-call services if necessary.

This role is tailored for a senior Analyst-Programmer, a Functional/Technical Analyst, or an experienced Consultant in legacy applications who wishes to have a direct impact on the business.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in analysis, design, and writing detailed specifications on large IBM systems.

Mindset & Attitude: You stand out by your total autonomy (ability to progress with little supervision) and your communication skills to exchange and challenge business teams.

Technical Skills:

Confirmed mastery of the IBM Mainframe environment (COBOL, DB2, JCL, TSO/ISPF, CICS, SPUFI).

Mastery of COOL:Gen (CA Gen) is an advantage for analysing and evolving the existing system. Some knowledge of Java is a plus.

Sector: Experience in the banking sector is highly appreciated. The business knowledge (accounts, credits, payments, risks, compliance) being complex, this background will allow you to be operational much more quickly.

Profile not sought for this mandate: Our client is very precise about their expectations: this position is not suitable for a purely technical execution profile who waits for turnkey specifications to code in isolation and fix bugs. The global vision, proactivity, and sensitivity to business issues are sine qua non conditions for success in this role.
