The Command Department provides services for the benefit of the population and the Lucerne Police, so that police officers can focus on their core activities. Business Control (Geko) sees itself as a service centre for internal and external customers. It is responsible for quality assurance of the reports created and for monitoring and managing incidents.

You can expect a responsible and varied leadership role with a balanced mix of strategic, conceptual and operational tasks. You actively shape the future of your specialist area and take on responsibility as deputy to the Head of Geko.

Your tasks

Leadership and Deputising

In the absence of the Head of Geko, you assume their leadership and decision-making powers and ensure the smooth continuation of business
You support the Head of Geko in personnel and organisational leadership matters
You deal with conceptual and legal issues in the diverse area of responsibility of Geko and develop viable solutions
In projects to further develop processes, organisation and specialist applications, you take responsibility or actively participate
Together with the specialist departments, you ensure the quality and currency of the knowledge databases and continuously develop them

Specialist tasks

In addition to your leadership and deputy duties, you are actively involved in the operational day-to-day business of Geko and contribute your police expertise:

You check incoming reports, ensure compliance with quality requirements and decide on their release or return for rework
As a competent contact person, you advise and support employees on questions regarding reporting, incident management and the use of specialist applications
You take on administrative tasks as well as support for police specialist applications, especially myABI and CMI
You pass on your knowledge in instructions during initial and further training in a practical and understandable way

Your profile

In addition to a completed police training, you have several years of professional experience and current, sound police expertise
Initial leadership experience or proven leadership skills provide a good foundation for this versatile role
Ideally, you have the FLG II SPI as well as basic leadership training or are willing to complete it
With your confident and communicative manner, you build trust and know how to convey even complex matters clearly, understandably and appropriately for the audience
You have very good oral and written expression skills in German
You are characterised by a strong IT affinity and confident handling of M365, intranet, wiki software and collaboration platforms
Your analytical and conceptual thinking, quick comprehension and eye for future-oriented solutions help you to quickly grasp and effectively handle demanding issues
You have a high sense of responsibility, present yourself convincingly and have the necessary assertiveness to implement decisions consistently and solution-oriented

Note: Successful completion of an assessment is a prerequisite for this management position.
