The shunting staff, as a central professional group, make a key contribution to this. Night and weekend work is additionally compensated - e.g. with 16 francs per hour for Sunday work. For night shifts, you also receive time bonuses between 10 and 30%. This means you have more free time than employees without night and weekend shifts.

This is what you can achieve.

• You prepare passenger trains for their journey, carry out shunting movements on train compositions and drive various traction vehicles with a maximum speed of 30 km/h within a limited area of the station to the defined starting point.

• During shunting movements, you monitor the route and thus ensure safety.
• You prepare the readiness for departure, enter data into safety and information systems, and carry out brake tests.
• You remedy minor defects or faults on the vehicle yourself if possible or report them to the responsible authority using the prescribed instruments.
• Assignments as a shunting specialist (Ai40) in full tours are a matter of course for you. You couple and uncouple rail vehicles, direct individual shunting movements and return train compositions.

• You are attentive, focused and physically resilient to successfully manage this demanding work in a 24-hour shift operation. In addition, you enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• In your daily work, you use a tablet, among other things. You have no difficulty handling modern work tools.
• You are already a trained train driver Cat. A40
• You have good knowledge of German, both spoken and written.
• You have perfect colour vision (no red-green colour blindness) and have no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers.
