Role:
In this role, you will take on the medical leadership of the emergency department and develop it as an independent functional unit with short decision-making paths and direct connection to the relevant clinical leadership committees. You will shape an interdisciplinary emergency medicine in which all specialties work closely together and the general practitioner emergency practice is integrated as a partner. In addition, you are responsible for expanding the emergency department as a recognised SGNOR training centre and shaping the continuing education and training programme for medical and nursing staff. As a member of senior management, you carry cost centre and budget responsibility and actively steer an important transformation phase. Responsibilities:
You lead the interdisciplinary emergency department professionally, organisationally and administratively and further develop it as an independent functional unit.
You triage and treat outpatient and inpatient emergency patients involving internal and external specialists.
In this role, you lead the senior physicians working in the emergency department from the departments of medicine and surgery.
You integrate various specialties into emergency operations, further develop interdisciplinary emergency standards and are responsible for quality assurance and process optimisation.
As Medical Director Emergency Medicine, you design the continuing education and training programme for medical and non-medical staff and expand the emergency department as a recognised SGNOR training centre.
You carry cost centre and budget responsibility for the emergency department, participate in medical services and represent emergency medicine to rescue services, referrers, partner hospitals and the emergency practice operated by general practitioners.
Qualifications:
- You hold a federally recognised specialist title (e.g. general internal medicine, surgery or anaesthesiology) as well as the focus in clinical emergency medicine (SGNOR) and have several years of clinical experience in general internal medicine.
- Ideally, you have already obtained or are pursuing the specialist certificate in preclinical emergency medicine (SGNOR).
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in emergency sonography SGUM characterise your profile.
- You bring leadership experience or have a clear motivation to lead and specifically develop a functional unit.
- A pronounced service and patient orientation, high social competence as well as organisational skills, prioritisation strength and flexibility in dynamic situations are natural for you.
- Through your innovative, solution-oriented attitude, good self-management and resilience, you keep an overview even in demanding emergency situations.
