Innovative Environmental Services (IES) Ltd is part of the Eurofins Agroscience Group and an
independent GLP-certified Swiss contract research laboratory (CRO) based in
Witterswil near Basel (CH). We conduct studies in the areas of environmental behavior, metabolism,
ecotoxicology, and analytical chemistry and provide services in the development
and registration of agrochemical and pharmaceutical products.
Job Description
- Preparation and GLP-compliant execution of ecotoxicological tests to assess plant protection products, industrial chemicals, and pharmaceuticals
- Planning, independent execution, and evaluation of experiments in consultation with the supervisor
- General laboratory activities (e.g., equipment maintenance) and administrative tasks (e.g., creating/revising work instructions)
- Working according to the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Animal welfare-compliant work with aquatic vertebrates (fish, frogs) as model organisms within the framework of ecotoxicological tests
- Setup, operation, and maintenance of technical systems (flow-through systems for aquatic tests) after extensive training
Qualifications
- Successfully completed training as a biological laboratory technician or technical assistant (BTA/MTA) or equivalent education or B.Sc. in biology or a related field
- Reliable, careful, precise, and structured working style
- Sufficient physical resilience to safely lift and move medium-weight loads (containers of approx. 10 kg)
- Team player, flexible, resilient, and willingness to work occasional weekend shifts
- High willingness to learn, initiative, and motivation
- Good German skills; English skills are an advantage
- Professional experience working under GLP is an advantage
- Good knowledge and practical experience in ecotoxicology are an advantage
- Practical experience with biological detection methods (ELISA) is an advantage
- Practical experience in animal welfare-compliant handling and working with vertebrates including certificate (e.g., FELASA) is an advantage
- Good technical understanding, manual skills, and interest in the setup and maintenance of flow-through systems are an advantage
